Murphy's Law and my teeth....

A trip to the dentist this morning provided me with yet another unheard of problem that needed to be fixed......he first needed to CUT off a BRAND NEW crown.... I swear, good thing I know and like my dentist so well. I can hardly believe what can and does go wrong with my teeth!

While in the chair with the whine and chatter of the various wheels necessary to cut through the gold I was able to escape into my own mind. I had some good ideas for sculpture, sort of having to do with teeth and octopii and then I come home to find this image on the internet. Let's see if they (my ideas, not these squid) can come to fruition.

I got an email from my friend Marian Ueki in San Francisco yesterday, she has a new and very cute website up and running, have a LOOK!

I am gearing up to head into Boston on Thursday to exhibit at "The Best Little Bead Show" to be held at the Holiday Inn in Dedham, Friday from 10-7 and Saturday 10-4. Come on by. Terri and Phil Davison of Funky Stuff put on a really nice show.

It's easy to get derailed....

The internet has me in its grips.....microscopic organisms lead to plankton which leads to Kew Gardens which leads to Karl Blossfeldt which leads to ?

A brunch with an old friend started out the day, how lovely.

Tomorrow it is back to school for girlio's and a day in the studio for me, high time!

When the going gets tough......

Shop Update in Progress....

I have loaded up some beautiful vintage brass stampings on my shop page, they were very well received in Tuscon, I now offer them here!

The picture of the piece with an eyeball is just a sampling of something you might do with them.

Our trip to Provincetown was lovely, however brief. The promised exceptional light did not disappoint us, the ocean was an incredible and angry green with wind so viscous that I was fearful of my camera's safety! Seeing Lisa was a treat as we totally invaded her new sweet space. Thank you, Lisa!!!

Challenging times outdoors.....

Have you ever googled yourself? This is what showed up when I plugged my name in...cool!

This is what it was like outdoors and on the roads today, conditions were 50 degrees with lots of rain and lots of snow still on the ground which made for nearly opaque pockets of fog.

I have been having difficulty posting to my blog...I had wanted to share some pictures with you but instead I will suggest all that can go to the Polymer Clay Gal, Susan Lamuto's website!

She has fabulous taste and has been able to track down some of the liveliest contemporary work out there.

A little bug got ahold of me....

If this is the worst bug I've taken on that would be alright. This cold creep has sucked all of my energy, that's about all I can say!

I wasn't very much 'in the know' regarding my children's school schedule~ they are off all of this next week. My friend Lisa Ventre has offered for us to come and stay for a bit in Provincetown, I always love it this hauntingly quiet time of year. It will be great to see her, she has just purchased a home. She makes the best hats!

Home again....

In searching for a suitable image to distill my trip I came across this most incredible website!

My trip was fabulous, the show was good. People were exhibiting restraint and I think that this conservative spending trend will remain with us for awhile. It calls on our adaptive capabilities and a readjustment of our expectations.

Seeing my friends and having the luxury of some extra time in Tucson was exceptional. Kate and I had some fun altering some of her lovely PMC work with the addition of felt and bead embellishment~ a piece can be seen on her site's journal, take a look!

I am home, really no holdups in travel. We celebrated my daughters 17th birthday yesterday, my sweet valentine.

I am excited to get back to work but today I am going to take an ice skating field trip with my younger daughter's class!!!

An impending ice storm this morning made for some confusing early morning questions, school? No school? Turned out to be canceled mid morning. A crazy batch of precipitation since, a couple of inches of haley, sleety stuff....just so it lets me out of here at 3 A.M, aaaarck.
